Department of Labor concludes I-CAP audit

The Department of Labor has concluded its I-CAP (International Compliance Audit Program) audit of American Maritime Officers. The DOL Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) I-CAP program is a specialized audit of policies, procedures and records designed to verify compliance with the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act by national and international unions, all of which are subject to I-CAP audits by the OLMS.

"In our exit interview following this in-depth audit, the Department of Labor auditors said they were impressed with AMO's operational and management practices," said AMO National Secretary-Treasurer Jose Leonard. "We have now fully addressed all of the DOL's record-keeping requests and recommendations."

The letter from the OLMS concluding the audit and AMO's letter in response are available on the AMO Web Site.
