AMO members encouraged to attend AMO election proceedings beginning at 9:00 a.m. on December 7 at AMO headquarters

Members of American Maritime Officers are encouraged to attend and observe the ballot count for the 2022 AMO election. The ballot count will be conducted Wednesday, December 7 in the second-floor auditorium at AMO National Headquarters at 601 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach, Fla.

In order to be considered eligible, ballots are required to be received by mail at the designated depository by December 1, after which the balloting period for this election will end.

On Wednesday, December 7, the tallying process will proceed as follows:

● At 9 a.m. EST, representatives of TrueBallot, Inc. and members of the rank-and-file AMO Tallying Committee will meet at AMO headquarters in the auditorium.

Any AMO members in good standing who would like to travel to the depository to observe the collection of the ballots by representatives of TrueBallot, Inc. and the members of the AMO Tallying Committee will need to be present at AMO headquarters, able to verify their status as AMO members in good standing, and available to travel to the depository at this time.

● At 10 a.m. EST (approximate), representatives of TrueBallot, Inc. and the members of the AMO Tallying Committee, accompanied by AMO General Counsel as well as any AMO members in good standing who so choose, will travel to the depository to collect the ballots.

Only the members of the AMO Tallying Committee and representatives of TrueBallot, Inc. may handle ballots throughout the collection and tallying process.

● The ballots will be transported to the auditorium on the second floor of AMO National Headquarters, at which time the tallying process will begin.

● The regular AMO membership meeting will commence at 1 p.m. EST on December 7, be held in abeyance to observe the tallying process and reconvened when the tallying process has been completed.

The following AMO members were elected to serve on the Tallying Committee during the special meeting held on November 28:

3. Luis Correa
4. Joseph Gelhaus
5. John Regina
6. Christopher Sharik
