Ballots mailed for 90-day referendum on proposed development of AMO headquarters

Ballots were mailed April 17, 2009, by TrueBallot Inc. to all American Maritime Officers deep-sea, Great Lakes and inland waters book members at their home addresses for a secret-ballot referendum on the proposed development of AMO headquarters approved by the AMO National Executive Board, including the sale of 6.5 acres of land and buildings owned outright by AMO to the AMO Safety and Education Plan and the construction of a new headquarters building on a site owned outright by AMO in Dania Beach, Fla.

The 90-day secret ballot referendum is being administered by independent firm TrueBallot Inc. Included in the ballot package is a detailed explanation of the proposed sale and development, including associated costs and parameters. An architectural rendering of the proposed headquarters building is available on the AMO Web site.

Each AMO member is responsible for providing a valid, current mailing address to AMO headquarters. All ballots must be received by 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time July 16, 2009, or they will not be counted. If you do not receive a ballot, or if you lose or destroy your ballot, you may request a duplicate ballot by contacting:
