The crew of the Maersk Peary, here in February at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, delivered fuel and supplies to the scientific research base as part of Operation Deep Freeze for Military Sealift Command. AMO members working aboard the Maersk Peary during the mission included Captain Chris Fox, Chief Mate Joshua Squyres, Second Mate Barett Howell, Third Mates Michael Watkins and Will McDermott, Chief Engineer James Cook, First Assistant Engineer Ben White, Second A.E. Loren Anderson and Third A.E. Lee Wright. The Maersk Peary is manned in all licensed positions by American Maritime Officers.

The Maersk Peary waits outside of McMurdo Harbor on February 1 to deliver nearly 100 percent of the fuel to the station for the year. Over the next five days, the tanker delivered nearly five million gallons of diesel fuel and 500,000 gallons of aviation fuel.
