New Jones Act ConRo M/V Marjorie C launched

Pasha Hawaii's new 692-foot combination container and roll-on/roll-off (ConRo) ship, M/V Marjorie C, was launched in August at VT Halter Marine's shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss.

The Marjorie C will sail opposite the M/V Jean Anne in the Jones Act trades and enable Pasha Hawaii to bring weekly service to Hawaii from the U.S. West Coast. Like the Jean Anne, the Marjorie C will be operated by Pasha Hawaii with manning through TOTE Services, Inc., and all licensed officers represented by American Maritime Officers.

The M/V Marjorie C is set to enter the Mainland/Hawaii trade lane later this year. Like the Jean Anne, the Marjorie C will be active in transporting a variety of commercial and military cargoes, including vehicles, containerized cargo, yachts, helicopters, heavy machinery and oversized cargo.

"Launching Marjorie C is a huge and exciting milestone for us," said Pasha Hawaii President and CEO George Pasha, IV. "We're thankful for the many hardworking people involved in her creation, and, while we're quite eager to get her into service, our immediate focus will be on testing and commissioning her systems."

The Marjorie C has the ability and capacity to carry 1,500 twenty-foot-equivalent units above and below deck, as well as oversized cargo and vehicles on 10 decks, with a vehicle carrying capacity of 2,750 units.
